The Hooded Guru is the music production company created by Arun Deshpande, serving as an umbrella for his diverse range of musical and other creative projects.
Born in Wales, UK and now based in South Africa, Arun has been performing and creating music for over 30 years, taking his talents to stages around the world.
Arun’s musical style and influences cover a vast spectrum from folk to rock, gypsy jazz as well as piano instrumentals and transformational meditation tracks.
As a guitarist, pianist, and vocalist, he infuses each project with a passion and dynamic energy which reflects his deep love for music, life and spirituality. He enjoys writing and performing a wide range of music, including original songs and instrumental pieces, as well as covers.
He has collaborated with other talented artists, such as his guitar duet, The Gypsy Bar Stewards (with Mick Bold) in London, UK, Benny and the Mexican (with Elaine Boshoff) in South Africa and his collaboration with a student choir in Midrand, South Africa.
